Howe Barnes launched its first private equity fund in June
2004 with the intent to provide community banks with access
to growth capital. Our first fund is now fully invested, with
portfolio holdings in a number of bank and thrift institutions.
Following this success, Fund II was closed in February 2006.
In October 2006, Howe Barnes launched the ICBA Private Equity
Fund I. This fund is dedicated to investments in the members
of the Independent Community Bankers of America.
Through these three funds, we have made over 20 capital investments
in financial institutions ranging from $10 million to $3 billion
in assets.
